What is Sensory Integration Therapy?

Sensory Integration is the process by which our brain processes information it receives from our senses. Sensory Integration Therapy is a Therapy designed to help children who face sensory-processing Problems. It includes children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs).

How to know if your child needs Sensory Integration Therapy?

Sensory Integration Disorder affects a child’s response to a sensory
Stimulus. They might be over-sensitive or under-sensitive to sensory Inputs like touch, smell, sound, and more. The oversensitivity might lead To irritation from clothing, lights, sounds, plus poor balance and fear of Swings and other behavioral problems.

Under sensitivity might result in a love for a thrill like jumping from
Heights, swinging, spinning without feeling dizzy, problems in sleeping,
And chewing things.

If you find these problems in your child, you might consult a therapist for Examination.

How can we help?

We have a Sensory Integration program designed to improve children’s Response to sensory stimuli. Our therapists hold sessions to understand the sensory-processing problem the child is facing and plan the program accordingly. These are play-based sessions helping children cope with their unusual sensory responses.

During a Sensory Integration Therapy, our therapist exposes the child to different sensory environments in repeated schedules to get them habitual of those particular activities.

Once the child gets used to a certain level of activity, the level is raised with more challenges and intricate tasks. With this repetition, the child’s nervous system learns to respond more systematically.
